At Calvert Dog Training, our Board & Train program is tailored to bring out the best in your furry companion with one-on-one attention from our business owner and senior dog trainer, Elizabeth.

We also host a special December adolescent board and train at a reduced rate. The program is three weeks long from December 18- January 8. Space is limited to three puppies, ages 9 months to 12 months old.

We then assess your dog’s behavior in person, ensuring perfect alignment with your objectives. During the Board & Train program, your pet receives expert guidance and care. Each week includes an invaluable in-person training session with you, ensuring seamless integration of learned behaviors. Trust us to nurture your dog’s potential while providing you with the tools for continued success. Let’s embark on this transformative journey together.

Board and Train Puppies (under 1 year)

For puppies, our focus is on laying a solid foundation for their development. Socialization and establishing good manners are paramount during this crucial stage. Through structured interactions with other dogs and people, as well as exposure to various environments and stimuli, puppies learn invaluable social skills and manners that set the stage for a well-adjusted adulthood.

Board and Train Adult Dogs

Conversely, our Board & Train program for adult dogs prioritizes honing the skills that are pertinent to their owners’ needs and expectations. Whether it’s obedience training, addressing specific behavioral issues, or refining existing commands, our experienced trainers work closely with both the dog and owner to achieve desired outcomes. Additionally, we incorporate plenty of fun and engaging enrichment activities tailored to the dog’s interests and energy levels, ensuring a holistic approach to their training and well-being.

Adults need continuing education too. Talk to a trainer about our board and train!

Board and Train for the Fido Facing Fear or Dog Displaying Aggression

For dogs exhibiting fearfulness, our facility provides a serene and tranquil environment conducive to relaxation and gradual desensitization. Through carefully curated re-conditioning exercises and positive reinforcement techniques, fearful dogs are gently guided towards overcoming their anxieties and building trust in themselves and their surroundings. Elizabeth offers patience and understanding, allowing these dogs to progress at their own pace towards a more confident demeanor.

Similarly, for dogs displaying aggression, our approach is rooted in empathy and rehabilitation. By creating a low-stimulus environment and implementing behavior modification strategies, we help dogs displaying aggression learn alternative, more desirable responses to triggers that provoke their aggression. Through consistent training and positive reinforcement, we empower these dogs to make better choices and develop healthier coping mechanisms, fostering a safer and more harmonious relationship with their owners and the world around them.

Separation Anxiety

We understand the unique needs of dogs with separation anxiety and ensure they are never left alone, safeguarding the progress you’ve made in their training. To provide this extra level of care, a daily fee of $55 will be added to cover the cost of trusted pet sitters throughout the day.

If you’re uncertain about how your dog will adjust, we offer a single overnight experience to assess their comfort and well-being.
