Training Add-Ons During Boarding

A Better Alternative to Board and Train in Denver

At Calvert Dog Training, we don’t believe in quick fixes.

Many people searching for board and train in Denver are hoping for fast results—but meaningful, lasting change doesn’t happen in a couple of weeks.

Dogs are always learning. Puppies are growing up, adolescents are still developing (often until around 2.5 years), and adult dogs need thoughtful, consistent support to build new patterns.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all board & train program, we offer custom training during boarding—so your dog gets support that actually fits their stage of life.

Training sessions are available at $99 per hour and are tailored to your goals.

Add Training to Your Dog’s Stay

Training sessions may include:

  • foundational skills and manners
  • leash walking and real-world practice
  • confidence building and exposure work
  • early behavior work
  • socialization outings for younger dogs

For dogs under one year, we often include structured socialization outings in Denver at nearby dog-friendly spaces like a hardware store, brewery, or thrift store—helping your dog build confidence in real-world environments.

A Smarter Alternative to Board & Train

Traditional board and train programs in Denver often focus on short-term results.

Our approach is different.

Many clients use our boarding as an opportunity to learn more about their dog through a trainer’s perspective. During your dog’s stay, we’re paying attention to:

  • what environments they thrive in
  • what causes stress or excitement
  • what approaches actually work

You’ll leave with clear, practical insight into your dog—not guesswork.

For the best results, we often recommend:

  • a few training sessions during boarding
  • follow-up private dog training lessons in your home

This allows your dog to learn in the moment—and helps you maintain that progress long-term.

Social Opportunities (When It’s a Good Fit)

We can arrange:

  • mini playgroups for small dogs (under 12 lbs)
  • puppy play sessions
  • carefully matched play partners for dogs who are more selective

All interactions are intentional and supervised—especially for dogs who don’t thrive in traditional daycare environments.

Why This Approach Works

Dogs aren’t robots.

Lasting behavior change takes time, consistency, and follow-through at home. Instead of trying to “fix” everything during a short stay, we focus on building skills, confidence, and understanding that carry over into your daily life.

Stay Updates

We share photos and videos throughout your dog’s stay via a private drive so you can follow along.
